Jack Ford (b. 1989, London, UK) studied at the Arts University Bournemouth before moving to Florence to study under internationally renowned painter and teacher Charles H Cecil. During this time, Jack continued with his artistic practice, working in both wet and dry mediums such as oil paint and charcoal.
In a time dominated by screens and carefully manicured images, Jack Ford’s work feels like a welcome antidote. Drawing on the legacies of Old Masters, Jack fills his paintings with a sense of life, movement and reality.
He returns regularly to Florence to teach, alongside his teaching at London Fine Art Studios and as a visiting tutor to Atelier Tremlett in Lewes. Painting from life, Jack is keen for the works to be influenced by the ever changing variation of nature, constantly editing designs and re-evaluating whilst painting.
